Controlling Pests (Pf)
1 live mouse observed running across aisle climbing up on the bread rack and eating a loaf of bread. PIC was there to observe as well and removed gnawed bread. Ecolab is here 2x per week and noted 2 mice caught in most recent IPM. Discussed using plastic covered bins to store food items in (including pet food) in the past. PIC is instructed to provide plastic covered bins and to remove stand alone racks of food in the middle of the aisles
Why This Matters
SEVERE CONTAMINATION: Rodent droppings carry 35+ diseases including Hantavirus (36% mortality rate), Salmonella (20% of cases from rodents), Leptospirosis (kidney/liver failure). Mice contaminate 10 times more food than they eat through urine and droppings.
Code Requirements
IMMEDIATE ACTION: Clean/sanitize all affected areas with 10% bleach solution. Discard ALL exposed food. Seal holes over 1/4 inch (mice) or 1/2 inch (rats). Remove food sources. Install bait stations. Professional extermination within 24 hours.

The floors and shelves throughout the entire store were observed with small rodent droppings and other soils / All areas were shown to PIC / Provide a deep clean throughout and maintain a daily cleaning schedule. Remove all kick plates from all shelving including non food aisles to all exterminator better access to treat
