Debris is still prevalent under chip aisle and is noted on the IPM for 9/12/24 service. *UPDATE* 9/18/2024 - Floors under shelving still noted with debris and food items. More frequent cleaning is needed. *UPDATE* 10/23/24 - Back storage areas must be addressed daily as part of the cleaning schedule

Controlling Pests (Pf)
Small rodent droppings observed on dog food shelving and in chip aisle. PIC stated that all shelving is cleaned between 4:30am -7:00am every morning / PIC instructed to use plastic covered bins on the retail floor as there is evidence rodents are active during the day after morning cleaning *UPDATE* - 9/18/2024 - Ecolab was out on 9/16/24 for a mass trapping and noted 8 mice caught during extermination also noting cleaning that needs to be done. IPM reports are not being emailed as requested. All IPM reports going forward are to be emailed to isdhealth@boston.gov -The drop ceiling was baited but has not been checked since - Ensure drop ceilings are checked at next extermination. Plastic are starting to be delivered food is being put into bins as they come in. Pet food will also be put into bins. Establishment is to continue with mass trappings until a 0 catch is reported *UPDATE* 10/23/24 - Front retail cleanliness has improved However 1 rodent dropping was found on the dog food shelf near a snap trap. Other small droppings were observed behind the small beverage coolers at the registers as well as next to. Ecolab was on premis during re-inspection and noted 1 mouse caught in the mass trapping as well as cleaning violatons that need to be addressed. The drop ceiling has been serviced and reported with no activity.
Why This Matters
SEVERE CONTAMINATION: Rodent droppings carry 35+ diseases including Hantavirus (36% mortality rate), Salmonella (20% of cases from rodents), Leptospirosis (kidney/liver failure). Mice contaminate 10 times more food than they eat through urine and droppings.

IMMEDIATE ACTION: Clean/sanitize all affected areas with 10% bleach solution. Discard ALL exposed food. Seal holes over 1/4 inch (mice) or 1/2 inch (rats). Remove food sources. Install bait stations. Professional extermination within 24 hours.

*UPDATE* 10/23/24 - Parts of baseboard cracked/coming away from the wall / Steel flashing is on order for parts of the first back storage area ensure all flashing is installed and any other structural repairs completed before next compliance.

The floors and shelves throughout the entire store were observed with small rodent droppings and other soils / All areas were shown to PIC / Provide a deep clean throughout and maintain a daily cleaning schedule. Remove all kick plates from all shelving including non food aisles to all exterminator better access to treat Floor cleaning company will be out to remove kick plates and deep clean floors *UPDATE* 9/18/2024 - PIC stated that shelves were cleaned 3 hours prior to my arrival however upon our compliance walk through small rodent droppings were noted on the pet food shelving and aisles as well as on the Halloween candy shelving. -Floors are scheduled for a deep clean and kick plate removal on Saturday 9/21/2024. *UPDATE* 10/23/2024 - Several small rodent droppings observed in the second back storage area. Cleaning cannot be properly done because of the storage rack clutter. Daily cleaning must be done throughout both storage areas. -The second back storage area - Floors are heavily soiled odorous and with small rodent droppings / Provide a deep clean to remove all stains soils and odors and maintain daily cleanliness. -Standing water on floor near mop sink / remove and maintain dry -Area of flooring behind the ice reach in heavily soiled / Clean to remove.
