This inspection is due to a complaint from a customer. The location will need a deep cleaning and more pest control inspections. This was an issue last year and will need to be addressed. Product on the floor in the retail area will need to be stored off the floor and the back room will need to be organized so pest control can do what they need to do. Also the pest control reports have notes that need to be addressed each inspection so that the inspector can mark it as done. Please have staff read over the reports and make corrections.

Controlling Pests (Pf)
Evidence of rodent droppings in retail area on shelves around packaged foods cat and dog food and baby wipes. PIC will need to check all food areas each day and remove any packages with holes. Please send pest control reports to me for the last two months. Pest control inspected three times last month and one this month. This will need to increase and a deep cleaning will need to be done. Pest control should be checking the ceiling. The display in the front of the store had droppings on it.
Why This Matters
SEVERE CONTAMINATION: Rodent droppings carry 35+ diseases including Hantavirus (36% mortality rate), Salmonella (20% of cases from rodents), Leptospirosis (kidney/liver failure). Mice contaminate 10 times more food than they eat through urine and droppings.
Code Requirements
IMMEDIATE ACTION: Clean/sanitize all affected areas with 10% bleach solution. Discard ALL exposed food. Seal holes over 1/4 inch (mice) or 1/2 inch (rats). Remove food sources. Install bait stations. Professional extermination within 24 hours.
