Recieving/Sound Condition/Proper Temperatures
When a can is dented too close to the top or bottom seam the integrity of the product may be compromised and subject to spoilage. A review of the canned food products was completed as part of the inspection. Approximately 20 dented cans were identified. These cans exhibited dents on or close to the top or bottom seals. Dents of this type can jeopardize the integrity of the food container and/or products within. The dented cans must be removed from the retail shelving. Staff should be instructed not to stock dented cans. A list of the dented products identified is provided below: (2) Libby Cut Grean Beans (2) Anne Elise Tender Green Asparagus (2) Hunt's Manwich Sauce (+10) Island Choice Peach/Pineapple (2) Musselman's Key Lime Pie Filling and (3) Del Monte Mushroom Spaghetti Sauce.
