Toilet Enclosed Clean

BISD received a complaint that the restrooms between the food court and the market were unclean that the paper dispensers were missing that no toilet paper was available to the restrooms that the stall doors failed to properly latch and that toilet seats were missing from several of the stalls. The statements were verified during the inspection of the men's and women's restrooms. The following must be completed: The restroom seats must be replaced. The toilet paper dispensers must be replaced. The dispensers must be restocked with proper frequency. BISD requires the maintenance of a daily service log for both the men's and women's restroom. A point of contact should be posted within the restrooms for service related issues. If the restrooms are not properly maintained and fall into disrepair then the foodcourt and market must close. The restrooms are the only restrooms readily accessible to the foodcourt employees and the market staff.

Improper Maintenance of Floors

Clean the floor area behind the "bar-like" structure. Debris beneath the three-basin sink and grease trap should be removed.

Why This Matters

CONTAMINATION RESERVOIR: Damaged floors harbor bacteria in cracks. Standing water breeds Listeria, Pseudomonas. Broken tiles create pest harborage. Floor contamination spreads via shoes, equipment wheels, and dropped items. CDC found floor drains positive for Listeria in 40% of retail delis.

Code Requirements

Corrective Actions

Schedule floor repairs within 30 days; Seal all cracks immediately with approved sealant; Improve drainage to eliminate standing water; Increase cleaning frequency; Replace missing tiles; Re-grout as needed; Remove any carpeting from food areas
